If you are connected to either Xero or Quickbooks through EQUINET, you can share invoices with your contacts (like horse owners, vets, etc.) though SMS or email. (Read
Getting Started: Connecting with Third-party Accounting Provider for detailed instructions).
Follow the steps below to share an invoice:
- Go to the dashboard
- Click on 'Invoices'
- Select the invoice you want to share with a contact (Alternatively, you can create a new invoice and share that. Read Creating an Invoice for more information)
- To send an invoice right away - click on "Approve" - this will email the invoice to the contact and upload a copy into your third-party accounting provider (Xero or QuickBooks). However, if you want to share the invoice at a later date, you don't need to take any action. It will be saved as a draft in your invoices. When you are ready to send it out go to draft invoices in the Financial Overview on the dashboard and then click on "Approve" to share it. Once received, the contact will be able to open the invoice through Xero or QuickBooks.
- Once the invoice has been paid, click on "Set to Paid" to update the status of the invoice.
*If the SMS or email button doesn't show up, make sure you have assigned a telephone number and email address to the contact.
